NISSAN INTRODUCES LEVEL THREE CHARGER FOR LEAF

The electric vehicle market in many regions across North America can be a case of the chicken before the egg. The vehicles are in place, but the infrastructure that supports their electrification (apart from areas of California and other regions) simply does not compare with the ease of access to power enjoyed by its gas-powered cousins. Tesla Model S not withstanding, most electric vehicles are intended to be primarily city driven cars that can be charged at home or (in some cases) at the place of work while commuting between the two. The single major problem for electric vehicles to achieve mass appeal is simply that the range able to be travelled by batteries must be increased, the infrastructure must be improved, and the time required for a charge must be reduced.

Ford of Canada’s Oakville Assembly plant has achieved a landfill-free distinction, which means it no longer sends operational waste-to-landfill. The plant becomes the first Ford assembly plant in North America with the distinction.
