GM Solutions Summit Shines

General Motors 2019 Solutions Summit

General Motors Fleet and Commercial Sales Canada Solutions Summit tour made a stop in Toronto recently bringing with it 2019 products, technology updates and more for area fleet owners, operators and managers.

Peter Bagnall, Director- Fleet and Commercial Sales kicked off the meeting by recapping GM’s fleet sales success in 2017, especially in the key commercial sales segment and how total fleet sales are up a further 19 percent as of May 2018. In addition he gave an update on General Motors Canada’s ongoing investment in people, production and technology and how it supports GM’s global vision of zero crashes, emissions and congestion. Bagnall concluded his comments re-iterating how GM Fleet’s commitment to the three pillars of great products, innovative business solutions and exceptional customer experiences have driven its success.

General Motors National Training Manager, Craig Campbell, took summit attendees through what was billed as the most comprehensive lineup of fleet vehicles in the industry, including the fleet exclusive 2019 2FL Equinox, featuring a suite of safety technologies fleet customers demand. The product overview included information on the highly anticipated 2019 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra line of pickups, including the six engine options available on the new trucks.

The ride and drive portion of the summit took included a street drive, featuring over 30 GM vehicles to choose from, a dynamic drive course and a safety village. There were learning labs on vehicle safety, towing and hauling technology, connectivity, GM accessories and more. Summit attendees took full advantage of the day’s great weather to put the GM cars, trucks, vans, SUV’s and crossovers through their paces.

The event made an impression on attendees. Greg Cameron, Cameron Landscaping, a first time Solutions Summit attendee, was impressed by GM’s designs and technology as well as its commitment to the commercial market. Danielle Huber from Eric Huber and Company, a commercial window cleaning business was pleased to see the direction the automaker is taking.

As part of the summit and to celebrate the new launch of the new pickups, Mitch Marner, Toronto Maple Leaf and Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup Ambassador was on hand to take pictures and sign autographs for hockey fans.
