Donald (Don) James Wilson former Fleet Service Manager of Chrysler Canada passed away on Wednesday July 14. Friends will be recieved at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home and Chapel at 206 Norfolk St, Guelph, Ontario, Sunday July 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. and Monday July 19, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held at the funeral home chapel Tuesday July 20 11 a.m.

Also, Louise Clune has been named Account Executive at Wheels Mississauga office. Clune managed the Canadian fleet component for a U.S. chemical company. Wheels also appointed four bilingual associates for Driver Services and Managed Maintenance functions.

Shiro Ohta has been named Chairman, President and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc. Ohta has been with Subaru since 1986, having previously worked at Subaru’s Canadian head office in 1995-98 as Executive Coordinator Field Operations. “Our next target is a two per cent market share, but I believe that is it possible for us to ultimately achieve three and even four per cent,” he said.

Dubois was National Fleet Manager for a Canadian communications company operating 650 vehicles. JPL also appointed Wendy Van Es as Client Services Specialist for the Toronto office. Van Es is an experienced automotive administrative and customer service representative.

Allen Childs has been appointed President and a member of the Management Committee Americas (MC-A) for Nissan Canada Inc (NCI). Childs will be responsible for all of NCI’s Canadian operations. He takes over from recently retired Mark Grimm. Childs joined NCI in 1990. “As Allen assumes responsibility for Nissan in Canada, we have the utmost confidence that he will lead that team to continuous growth in the market,” said Carlos Tavares, Chairman, MC-A. Also at Nissan, James Morton moves to Nissan North America to become Director, NMAC Financial Products and Jay Cook will become Director, Finance for NCI.

Until this appointment, Breton was Parts and Service Business Consultant responsible for strategic development and execution of Audi’s After Sales communication, sales and brand management.

Transportaction Lease Systems Inc. (TLSI) announced that Blake Karasiuk will assume the Branch Manager responsibility in the Edmonton office taking over from Jim Cavin who has retired. Karasiuk has extensive fleet sales management experience. In Montreal, Johanne Legault takes over as Account Manager from Francis Lavoie who has retired. Again in Montreal, Carole Senecal, with many years of industry experience will fill the role of Eastern Regional Manager, a position previously held by Germain Belanger who has retired.

Casanova has 10 years automotive experience in a variety of areas including new vehicle sales, remarketing, dealer development, corporate sales and is fluently bilingual. He will be responsible for expanding the Mercedes-Benz fleet and commercial sales program across Canada. Said Casanova about the position "I am really excited about the opportunity to support our customers fleet needs through the use of Mercedes-Benz products including the Sprinter commercial van and the fuel efficient Smart car."

Enterprise Rent-A-Car Canada Ltd. named William Knowlton Vice-President and General Manager for the Quebec region. Knowlton will oversee regional rental car operations for Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car in Quebec. Knowlton joined Enterprise Rent-A-Car in 1994 and was most recently Assistant Vice-President for the Insurance Replacement Division.

Chrysler Canada announces new fleet positions. Rhett Gerrard becomes Fleet Account Executive for Western Canada and Juan Gutierrez is named Fleet Account Specialist for Ontario and Atlantic. Gerrard’s focus will be on commercial, daily rental and government accounts, Gutierrez’s on fleet sales in Ontario and Atlantic Canada as well as providing support to national fleet office analysis programs.
